Reading guitar charts
Each hatch mark represents one beat. The 4/4 time signature indicates that each measure(the space between the bar lines) includes 4 beats.
Most charts don't specify a particular strum pattern. In the next few pages I'll show you how to get started. An easy way to strum the chart below would be one downstrum for each beat.
